As you have already read on other blogs, I'm from Nottingham and a famous outlaw that comes from there is Robin Hood. That is Nottingham's main attraction and most people would have heard of Sherwood Forest. They have even made films, cartoons and a T.V series called Robin Hood but the most recent media representation is the new film Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe. In the trailer for Robin Hood, they show him as a bad guy and constantly fighting, however they call him a legend...? I understand that Robin Hood is the 'noble robber' who robs from the rich to give to the poor, therefore it makes sense to call him a legend seeing that he is doing good for other people less fortunate.
However, is Robin Hood actually real? I'd like to believe so because that's what makes Nottingham so famous. Plus we have a tourist attraction called Sherwood forest which has the 'Major Oak Tree' that he is supposed to have lived. If it isn't all true, then all that is pointless and just a waste of space. I think it's a nice thing to have though and it's nice to think that the history still exists.
